The idea behind this toy is excellent....BUT if soap gets inside -via the switch at the back or the speaker aperture underneath (it is very difficult to stop the soap mixture going all over the train) , then this train will stop working (no sound, no bubbles). What's worse you can not fix it. Having spoken to Tomy themselves they explain that apart from removing the wheels (which then can not be replaced) you can not open it to clean or repair the switch. In short I would recommend not buying this unless you have kept the receipt so that you can replace it when goes wrong...and it will.

The music isn't too bad but it would be nice if you could switch it off sometimes without turning the bubbles of
Shame there isn't a big refill pack of bubble mixture available.
Though it is safe for a child to poke his fingers into the funnel, the mixture does tip out if the machine isn't upright

My son adores Thomas. Purchased this for him Christmas 2007. The song is a bit repetetive (but thats kids toys for you!)
You do get some bubble mixture supplied with the toy - this does run out very quickly! However you can make your own just by using a bit of washing up liquid and water mixed together.
Watch out if using on laminate flooring - as can be a bit of a slip hazard!
